Blog or Not ?

so should I let this Blog die or just pop in now and then to say something I am doing, interested in or something I have made.

I don't know the answer to this at this time, all I know is how I view this Blog has changed

so you will no doubt have noticed that the blog entries dropped right off again this is mainly due to the fact that I just lost interest in do a blog, I did not run out of stuff to say just I somehow find something else to do ......ho hum.

 So I have been away in Middle Devon where there is very little internet, so expect some late blogs.

Hello Indonesia

 As it my want I checked the website like you do to see where visitors from around the world are coming from, so I was Again surprised to see that some one from Indonesia landed on my site somehow.

So welcome enjoy the site,  assume that somehow you can make sense of what I have written here.

 How big is blogger ?

Just an lazy thought just how many active blog sites are there on blogger?

I think it's amazing that Google haven't shut it down as they seem to shut stuff after a few year on average.

France

 Just checked the stats for today 22/09/2022 in the afternoon and this site has had more hits from the great folks in France than in the U.K., yes a shock but I am based in the south of the U.K. not far from a city called London, you may even have heard of it I dare say. Anyway getting back to the point and the reason for this blog post is that I appear to be more popular in a country that does not have English as its first language yet it is looking at this site.

How does that happen?

I don’t care just as they may have got something from this website, what they got from it I suspect I will never know.

Anyway I shall keep a look out to see if today was just a flash in the pan and that all the hits from France were just a mistake.

2200

So this blog of mine has had 2200 posts which is amazing, well I think that it is. its even more so when I look back at how often I post and you realize that most of the time I don't post anything so a count of 2200 is very good.

I think I am going overboard with the inserting of pictures, but as this a notebook to me I think I can do whatever I want to my Blog

Editing

Well I have some time so as this is my notebook I am adding some odd thoughts and also using the new features of the software that I use to write this blog.

Who knew that it was so easy to add pictures?

Blog Setup

So as this is my blog I can have it setup how I want the current layout has been the same for years so I shall have a look for a new template that I like.

Thing is once I have chosen a new template you wont know what the old one looked like because everything will have changed to the new template. But at least I will know that the site has been updated.

Blog Bots

I wonder if the Blog Bots out there in the internet have names?

Blog posts

So with this post I will have posted the same number of entry's as I did way back in 2008.

1000 Blog Posts

I think that this year 2011 I could hit the 1000 blog posts, now for other folks that is not a big number. But for me it is, as looking at the site logs and the blog post records soon shows that I sometimes go for many weeks without making a post.

Not sure why sometimes I have lots to say and on other days noting not a thing to talk about.

So it will be interesting to see how the blog posts go this year.

New year

So another year of blogging starts.

I wonder just how many blogs I will do this year.

It looks like last year was not a bad year with some 160 odd blogs entry's which is good as I do know that I can go for weeks without making an entry.

Nothing Much

Its been some time since I have bloged, manly because I have had nothing I want to say, but the other reason could be that it now takes blogger so long to be ready for me to type something in.

Why?

I just don't know.

Any way here is a blog entry for what it is worth.

Reading

Books that I have read but did not record here in my Blog are Glasshouse by Charles Stross, this was a good read but and its only a small but I did work out very early on what was going to happen. What was great was that it did provide me with some good entertainment which is after all the main reason why I read fiction books in the first place.

I have read other peoples reviews of books and for some reason they forget that when reading fiction books you want to be taken somewhere else by the author and if he does that in such a way that structure of the book and the words he uses are simple, who cares! as long as the author gets the story in your head in stereo and full HD 3d that's all that matters as far as I am concerned.

Anyway back to Glasshouse, it has some great ideas that make for a good story that will make you think ( well it did me).

Now I did read another book but I have forgotten the name of it and who the author is, it was a fact book on the Lancaster Bomber of WW2, to make matters worse I have lent it to someone else on the understanding that he can lend it out after he has read it.

BBQ

It was touch and go but we had a BBQ tonight, what with how the weather has been over the last few days we where not sure if it would even be dry!


The weather gods were good to us and it was dry and the sun was out for just a little while. The only other problem was that it was a race cooking all the food before we run out of BBQ gas, and thats with that gauge thing they have on gas bottles these days.


Other news I have read a few books that for one reason or another I have not yet recorded here on my blog, but I promise I will do soon.

One of the reasons for not doing the blog has been that for some time now it takes a very long time for it to load up no matter what computer I use to access it, why?

Posts

I see that according to Blogger this is my 782 post. I know that's not many compared to many other folks and there blog pages, but then again I only blog when I have some thing I want to say and also want to be able to find later.

I do wonder if Twitter has killed my need to blog, in fact I wonder if the rate of blogging has fallen off some what.

I have noticed that you don't see any one making so many comments about blogging, perhaps it's no longer flavour of the month or some thing.

Anyway I just noticed all that and that my level of posts has dropped right off, I shall just carry on a post at a time as and when I have some thing to say or report on.

I see that I have not done very many blog posts of late, mainly as I have not had anything to talk about, so why say fluff?

Nothing to say

Its funny how at one stage I had lots that I wanted to say then all of a sudden nothing zip, why?

I don't know why it happens like that but it does and from some reading that I have done I am not the only one that it happens to.

I was given a bit of advice a while a go about writing blogs, and the advice was that if you have nothing to say then don't try and force it as what you will write will come out as something that will not read well and it will probably not really be the real you speaking.

So I have followed my own advice over the last few weeks.

Which is good.
