Colder than I expected this morning 

October

So it's October already and I have not been very good in updates not sure if I really have an excuse other than I have lost the will to update the blog. Sadly from what I have seen on the Internet this is not a rare event. So I don't feel bad about it.

One bit of news is that I have not lost my will to create music and I am pleased to say that I am still making some 5 or more tracks a month and that they are all going on to my utube channel which is good.

Home hum

So it's that time of the year when night and day length are the same. Yes it's equinox which means that winter is just around the corner.

Easy Saturday

I have decided that today that I am going to have an easy Saturday, and why not as I have worked hard this week and so I  think I deserve it.

Long time no speak

I have just noticed that i have not been on blogger for a long time, why this should be in just don't know all I do know is that I have not been on in a long time.

I do have things that I can talk about but for some reason or other I just don't get around to writing about it on this blog.

Perhaps it will change and I will write more soon but I noticed that I have already said that before and I still some how end up not writing anything again.

So only time will tell.

April Snow

So the other day it snowed here and in London I am not sure if this is unusual for it to snow at this time of year. The weather people have also said that it is going to get down to -1 tonight, really!

So I have a new phone a Galaxy S7 edge and so far it has been very nice and it does seem to do everything I need it to do

So I have my new phone a Galaxy S7 edge so far it has been very nice to use and its a big change from the S4 that I had before.

Show Victoria

Went to see a musical at the Woking Victoria last night. The show I daw was Prisilla queen of the desert and i have to say the songs and coztumes were great. If you get chance have a look at it.

Creme Egg

While in London yesterday and walking every where we also went to Greek Street in Soho where cadburys have a shop/store stelling Creme egg toastes line from the shop went round the block but we did get our toaste for 2 quid each all the money going to charity

The toastey eas nice but not something you would want to eat every day as its far to rich and full of stuff you shouldnt eat.

But as something to do in London fun and silly at the same time.

Sherlock Holmes

Yesterday while in London went yo the Sherlock Holmes musem. Sadly I have to say that it eas not what I was expecting and gelt ripped off at the cost of 25 quid a ticket to walk around 7 tooms od stuff from the 1900's.

Part of the problem is that it bills itself as a musem yet nothing is labled ehich is I think something that should have been done. To me it just feels like a way of making loafs of money for no real effort.

London

Went to London yesterday for 11 pounds on the train which as it eas a group save was I think cheap.

So I am having a couple of days at home looking forward to s 7am lie in.

Just noticed on an oak tree that I have just walked passed that the buds on it have started to swell, I asume its daylight or its getting warmer.

-2 today which was a bit of a surprise.

This is so long ago, (looking back from 2022) the thing is that I remember taking the picture as we where on our way to Waterloo train station to catch a train back to Farnham. 

What I can not remember is, what I took the picture with!

I think it was a camera and not a phone were digital camera's at a price that I could afford back then,  I just don't know.

Finally the very strong winds have died down, the noise was getting to me.

Its still very windy outside as I write this. The weather people have said that the winds should die down by 8 pm, we shall have to wait and see.

So I have given blood for the 134th time!

So the weather is very windy just as they said it would be. 97 mph winds so far and this is in land.

So the long wait to give blood I dont know why, but this is the bit thst I dont like very much.I am not sure why I dont like the wait perhaps its the getting board while waiting or that I just want to get the donnation over with.

Shy

So one of the reasons that I have this blog is that I am and have always been shy, I do find it hard to talk to people who I don't know. This shyness has been part of me since as long as I can remember. I think I have got over some of my shyness because if I hadn't I would not be married and have a family.

One of the side effects of my shyness is that I have very few friends, which at times is sad for me as there are times when I would like to have the odd friend or two to talk to about anything as and when.

So I use this blog to jot down things that I might have said to a friend. Why not the wife I hear you ask?

Well not all the things that I am interested in are of interest to her and sometimes you need me time and I am not joined at the hip we are both are own people.

So the very strong winds of yesterday have finally gone which is good. I am so glad that the weather we are having is this and not the snow and stuff like that.

How to make a Largerita ( Updated Layout)

My Largerita

This is a great summer drink (Yes, it's true that the United Kingdom does have summers, it's just they don't last long!) that with great food and friends is very nice, it is also a hot summers day drink and a hot summer is even better (But much much rarer here in the United Kingdom), and a BBQ is well even more better!

So to make my version of a Largerita you will need ( I did say to make my version of a Largerita! you may find others that have similar ideas, they are also worth having a go at, it may be, that one of the versions you find is just what you are looking for! and not my version, that is alright as different folks have different tastes so hopefully you will find a Largerita that tastes just right for you. )

So you need the following bits and pieces......

Bottle of Mexican Beer

(Sol) (330ml) make sure it's cold,(I said Cold, I do mean cold, not frozen but cold, got it?) if you have no Sol,(yes and I also do bad puns!) I have found that any 5% (Alc vol) bottled Larger works, but for some reason the less "sweet" ones work much better, your taste buds might have other ideas....(and if they do, give them a taking to!.....)( make sure the beer is cold, you will see a theme, about cold here....)

The best you have around, also without this ingredient you will not have a Largerita, and I mean the best you have, your Largerita will taste much better if you don't skimp on the quality of the ingredients.

Honest.....if you happen to have Patron Platinum, and who doesn't? then go for it. It really does make a big difference to the final drink, I should know as I have tried this drink with several different Tequila's and its sad to say that in the case of Tequila you get what you pay for, at least that's what my taste buds are telling me!

One shot of Triple Sec

(Any make seems to work at least for me, but please do note that different Triple Sec's do have different tastes,some are sweeter than others, as I said before, find the one that your taste buds like and also the one with the deep flavor that you like or your taste buds like.)

One shot of Lime Cordial

The higher the Lime content the better, here in the UK, I have found that Britvic and Rose Lime Cordial work well, for me that is (my taste buds again) your taste buds will have other ideas that is for sure, as it appears that when it comes to tart tastes, people really do have a big difference in how their taste buds perceive tart or sour tastes.

Fresh Lime Juice to taste 

Not really needed, but try it for the first glass or two, it's a real surprise, what a little fresh Lime juice can do to the taste of a drink.

Mix vigorously and serve with ice

Well don't ask me why, but do not leave this out, as it makes all the difference to the final drink you end up with in your hand, well to me it does...and I promise you, I have tried this recipe both ways and this is the best way (with Ice that is.....)

I have read somewhere that it deepens the taste, whatever that means!

All I know is that it really does change the drink into something-worth having on a hot day, with blue sky, your shades on and a BBQ near by

So there you have my version of a Largerita, which I have to say it always works well for me.

I suspect that the better the ingredients the better the end result, but then you know that don't you?

Also it's a bit like when baking, keep to the measures given, as it makes all the difference. (yes just a little bit over on just one of the items can change the whole nature and final taste of resulting drink) (I have warned you as I know from my own experience!    that it can make a great drink, complete crap!)

Have fun and let me know how you got on, and if you can remember what Larger, Lime cordial and Triple Sec and Tequila you used, let me know, so that I can try them out assuming I can get them in the UK that is.

Livebook

So as I said in another post my Livebook doesn't want to be seen by my computer but it is seen by my sons laptop the only strange or thing that is different is that the Livebook is plugged into the router while all the other Nas drives are plugged into the switch. So I have decided to buy a new switch which has more ports on it and see if having everything plugged into the the same switch will make a difference. Even if it doesn't I do need some spare ports.

Snow New York

So glad that I don't live in New York that amount of snow looks very dangerous, hopefully the people in charge will have a plan to cope with the snow.

Livebook

I have a Nas drive made by western digital called Livebook which is 3TB in size. The strange fault that I have with it is that I can access it from my iPad but not from the computer it does not show up on the network drive list. When I try to connect to it by using its IP address it still fails to see it.

The strange thing is that my son can see it as a network drive and access it on his laptop so go figure.

Very cold

So we have just had a cold snap -8 over night which I know is not cold for some parts of world. But the reason I live where I do is so that I don't have to suffer such cold temperatures.

Steak

Just cooked a steak at home and it was great got the timing just right

So the weather people say we are due some cold weather perhaps even snow, if we are lucky it will just be cold but I think that else where they could get some.

Fog

The first fog of the year so far it's amazing just how little you can not see and how quick you forget this fact.

So its much colder today than yesterday which should not be a surprise as it is winter after all.

So I happen to be watching an old James Bond film on the telly and I got to thinking just how much of the original film do we see on the tv as compared to what was released at the cinema?

Blog post last year

I see from looking at my blogger dashboard that last year i did only 88 posts. As I do the blog for me it doesn't matter how many posts I do a year as I only post something when I have something to say.

It will be interesting to see just how many times I do post in 2016.

Happy

So I have to report that I am still happy so far this year.

Cold

So it's much colder than last week in single figures would you believe when last week it was 15 centigrade.

Number one

So here goes with post number one, it will be interesting to see just how many times I manage to post in 2016 as compared to 2015.

Last day

So it's the last day of 2015, a lot of things have happened in this year some of them have not been very nice, the death of my mother being one of them.

Another thing that happened for a while was that I did not know if I was still in love with my wife, i know a strange thing to say here but for a while I didn't know what I wanted and that included my wife of 30 odd years.

The good news is that I do still love her so much but I have no idea how to tell her in a way that I have not already told her.

Last day of the year is always going to be a strange time of the year as you can look back and see what happened but can't change what happened but the good news is that most of what happened was good even if at times I felt that I was a passenger.

Weather

I am so lucky that I don't live near to a major river as the news from else where in the uk is very upsetting with all the flooding that is going on. Knowing that it will be a long time before the people effected will get their lives back to something like normal. I suspect that the insurance companies are going to do there bit to make life harder as well.

Rest day

So today is a rest day which is good the bad news is that I still had to get up early to make sure the wife went to work on time.

Roast Pork 2

Well I can say here that the rare breed pork was well worth the money and the time to cook it. If you get the chance then do have a go at trying it.

So today we are going to try a rare breed pork called gloster old spot it will be interesting to see if the rare breed pork tastes different to the standard pork you get in the shops.

Back from Calane

So the journey back from Calane took 1.5 hours which was not bad the gps sent us back on a different route to the route it sent us on on the way there.

Drinking

So it's Christmas night and I am having a beer that I have never had before called kill your darlings which is a Vienna style larger and I have to say that it is great.

Cooking

So as its a day off we normally have a roast dinner and today is no different in that we Are going to have roast gammon which is and has always been a favourite.

Happy Christmas

So it's the 25 December so it must be Christmas if you celebrate that kind of thing. For me it's a day off so that is always good.

Drink

Having a the bears from jig hug the beer is a bit strong for me as there appears to be a lot of hops which appears to overload the flavours for me.

Drinking fullers 1845 all i can say is wow.

This is not a session beer but something to be enjoyed with respect as it is a great beer with a strong taste.

Why do women have so many shoes?

I don't know the answer to this question but I am sure that the answer if there is one is going to be good.

Time

Where does all the time go when you are on days off?

I mean I woke up at my usual time and decided to do some reading, the next thing I know it's 11.30 where has the time gone to?

Reading

I like to read this is something that I have always loved and it's something that I have always done. So it is always a pleasure when I get a book that is great to read the only problem with this is that I then find that other things that I should be doing are not being done and that can and does lead me in getting into trouble, but with a  good book the trouble caused is I think worth it. Most of the time the books I now read are on the iPad, which in one way is sad but it is easier to carry far more books than if they were paperbacks. 

One of the joys of reading is that you can sometimes find a new author and then find that they have written lots of books, so you know that your reading list is going to be full for the next few weeks as you read through the list.

The first time

So this is the first time that I am using a program called swift key I am not sure yet if it is going to be quicker than me typing all the words myself but I have read that it needs to learn more about how I write before it can start to be quicker than me typing all the words myself so I will give it a go and see what happens.

Solstice

So winter solstice has been and gone agin and the night soon should start getting shorter, I read somewhere that the daylight difference beetween winter solstice and summer solstice is 7.5hours that's a lot you just don't realise just how much light in the winter here in the uk you loose.😀

Wow

Wow so much time has passed since I last had something to say here on my blog. Not too sure why it is but there you go.

One of the things I like about having my own personal and for all intents and purposes private blogs is that I can write when I want about whatever I want as the only person who reads this is me right?

So having had this blog for a long time I have noticed that I can go for many weeks with nothing to say and that alright as its my blog and sometime I just don't feel like I have anything that I want to say.

So I may or may not do a couple of more blog entry's before the end of the year it all depends on just how I am feeling.

Things are still sad due to my Mum passing away in late October.

So I have just noticed that sunrise is now getting later and later in the morning which should not be a surprise but it is its just that it appears to have happened rather quickly. I suppose this means that winter is now with us for the next few months.
