Love Underground

 Love Underground

[Verse 1]

The Northern Line is humming low, a steel and concrete lullaby,

Headlights paint the tunnel walls as fleeting dreams drift through my eye.

Another Monday, London bound, briefcase clutched within my hand,

Unseeing faces all around, lost in this underground land.

[Chorus]

But then I saw you, across the aisle, a splash of colour in the grey,

And time stood still for just a while, chasing the shadows away.

A London love, a fleeting glance, a whispered hope upon the breeze,

Caught in this underground romance, lost in the rustling of the trees

(beneath the city, far above).

[Verse 2]

You read a book, its cover worn, a story whispered, page by page,

And in your eyes, a world is born, escaping from this metal cage.

The train pulls in, the doors slide wide, a rush of bodies, pushing past,

But in that moment, side by side, a connection built to last.

[Bridge]

The lights flicker, the train it sways, a symphony of steel and might,

And in this maze of passing days, you are a beacon, burning bright.

I build a dream inside my head, of cobblestone streets and whispered sighs,

Of holding your hand, all fear shed, reflected in your London eyes.

[Outro]

The train screeches, the journey ends, we step onto the platform floor,

A silent promise transcends, forever wanting something more.

London underground love, a dream, a hope that lingers in the air,

Until our paths converge, it seems, and I see you standing there.
