Sunshine after the rain

 Sunshine after the rain

Verse 1:

The old penny in my pocket, cold against my skin,

A whisper of a promise, a future held within.

Not money enough for riches, or a life of endless ease,

But enough to chase the shadows, and bring my heart some peace.

Chorus:

Sunshine after the rain, a rainbow in the sky,

A little bit of happy, as the lonely hours fly.

Dreams are fragile things, like wings upon the breeze,

But love can be the anchor, that keeps them 'mongst the trees.

Verse 2:

The window pane is weeping, a grey and solemn tear,

Reflecting back the sadness, the ghosts of doubt and fear.

But I see a single sunbeam, cutting through the gloom,

A reminder that tomorrow, a brighter day will bloom.

Chorus:

Sunshine after the rain, a rainbow in the sky,

A little bit of happy, as the lonely hours fly.

Dreams are fragile things, like wings upon the breeze,

But love can be the anchor, that keeps them 'mongst the trees.

Bridge:

They say that gold is power, that fortunes can be made,

But the riches that I cherish, are in the light and shade.

The laughter of a loved one, a hand to hold me near,

A quiet understanding, that wipes away all fear.

Chorus:

Sunshine after the rain, a rainbow in the sky,

A little bit of happy, as the lonely hours fly.

Dreams are fragile things, like wings upon the breeze,

But love can be the anchor, that keeps them 'mongst the trees.

Outro:

The trees, the trees, keeps them 'mongst the trees.

My love, my love, keeps them 'mongst the trees.
