Today I had the chance to hold a 1.5 meter long 6 kilos in weight sword, I must admit that it was a very strange thing to hold and that I would not like to have to have had to use it in real life as it's such a large item that you are supposed to use to kill some one with.
If you can not guess I was visiting a national trust property today that goes back to the Tudor period and so it goes without saying that they would have some old swords that are only 300 or 400 hundred years old that once you have put gloves on you can handle while under supervision.
It's something that I am glad that I did and would do again, as to me it felt that I had a chance to touch a bit of history.
