Covid Anyone

 Covid

People are still catching covid even if they have had all the jabs that have been offered to them.

Are they catching the same thing or is it something different?

All I do know is that my wife has caught covid for the second time even though she has had covid before and all 3 jabs offered.

hopefully the symptoms will be mild for her, and I suspect ask like last time when I caught covid I will get it from her, so lets hope is a mild one.

I also have just noticed that the mainstream media are not reporting anything on covid, strange that?

YouTube Thumbnails

Thumbnails and Me 

So as you know if you have read any of my blog posts here over the last year or to I compose music which I then put on my YouTube page/Channel.

I don't post to the channel at a regular time and I don't advertise it, mainly cause I don't know how to and also because other things in my life get in the way.

One thing that I have not done is a thumbnail for each of the tracks that I have uploaded.

There are a lot of tracks, so that is a lot of thumbnails.

So I have recently found a free programme that has helped me to make thumbnails.

I read reviews on the software with there being a lot of negative reviews of it, saying things like its very slow etc..

I have not found that to be a problem.

So I have been playing with the free parts of the program and have managed to produce some thumbnails for some of my many tracks on Youtube.

The artwork will not win any awards, but I don't care about that as all I wanted was for my tracks to have a thumbnail that is not a plain boring background, this somehow I have managed.

So I have done perhaps ten thumbnails so far, the amount of time that it has taken is a real surprise.

Oh you want to know what the free software that I have been using on my PC?

Its by Adobe and is called Adobe Express, I have not yet looked at how much the paid for part is and what it will give my that will make it worth me spending some money on it.

Fog EP Released

So the Fog EP has been released today and you can hear all the tracks on it at my youtube page. The current EP has three tracks on it with one of the called Fog.

I do have ideas to do a EP+ with some more tracks but I have not yet created them, if I do I will post the update here.

One thing that I have noticed was when I used to publish a track on Youtube it used to update this Blog, with ta link to the track but that does not seem to be the case anymore, sad times.

New EP called Fog

New Music EP 

So I shall be releasing the last track of my new EP called Fog.

 I have already released 2 of the 3 tracks.

 At this time I don’t yet have a name for the last track but my gut feel is that it’s going to be the title track of the EP and its going to be called Fog.

I don’t know the answer to that question but I shall watch and wait to see what happens this year.

New Beer Tryout

 New Beer

so I have tried a local brewery beer that I have heard about but have never had the chance to try until now.

The ale, because it is a real ale is call Old Tongham Tasty or OTT this is a strong ale 6% and is a dark ale that has a very complex taste in fact I don’t think I can say what the taste is other than this is an ale that you sup, it’s not a session ale it’s an ale that you will want to savour the taste.

The ale is brewed by the Hogs Back Brewery in Tongham Surrey U.K. with a look if you can get hold of it as it tends to sell out quickly.

Cold cold cold

 so for the last week we have been in a very cold spell for us that is I know other parts of the world do have it much colder, but the problem is the U.K. houses are not designed for the cold, so when it gets cold the houses even with heating are cold.

So it’s been -8C here the heating in the hose just can’t cope with this so the result is that the house is just cold all the time, even with layers of clothing you just end up feeling cold all day.

I am told it’s due to warm up to +12C on Monday as I write this on the Saturday, we shall see.

 Well not too sure what is going on, but I uploaded onto youtube 4 new music tracks yesterday 18/11/2022 and for some unknown reason only one has appeared here, which is a pity as I happen to think that all four tracks are all rather good, don't get me wrong none of them are no1 in the charts good, they are just good.

All of them have some nice musical ideas in them and some great samples which I like to think I have used well.

Next Time Next Time

Long Run Delay

 I was planning to do a long run today, so a run over over 12k to me is a long run, but woke up 0530am ready to get out there and get it done, only to discover that the weather had other ideas.

We must be in the middle of a storm or something because the rain that is falling is just nuts, very heavy and it appears as I write this at 0830am it’s still raining beginning to wonder when it will stop.

So in light of all the rain might do my run on Monday.

What I like about this picture is that, I happen to think the lipstick that she is wearing works really well.

Not too sure about the orange top, but in her defence I think this is a running top, and that she took the picture at a recent run that she did.

(Edit note she confirmed that it was at a recent parkrun, before the run, as she says that she did not look so nice at the end of the 5K run!)

New Beer I Tried

So I have just today tried a new beer that was on the shelves at the local Tesco.

Having tried it I think that it was not one of my better buying decisions, in that I just don't like the taste of this beer.

So what did I buy?

I brought Guinness Cold Brew Coffee Beer

I was looking forward to it, in that I don't mind Guinness, I also like Coffee so you would think that should not present a problem?

But for some reason the two ingredients together for me is a beer that just does not taste nice and it also has a very long after flavour 

why this should be, I just don't know?

I tried the beer correctly chilled as per what is says on the can, I made it the first beer of a session, but sadly its made no change, I even tried it after a strong IPA but the result for me was the same, a beer that has a taste that I can't describe what the taste is, that I just don't like.

Oh well on to the next beer

Rain

 So this is yet another note to me that its been raining it feels like it has not stopped raining for days, it probably did stop raining but nobody notice this event happening as its also been dark, I know that we have just had the clock shift but it just feels as if it has been darker than I remember.

It could just be me, but it just does feel like its darker.

Cold

 Just a note to me that it turned cold last night and we had to put the heating on...

Work seminar

 Doing a work seminar at 0600 in the morning is not much fun, I am not fully awake!

I haven’t even finished my first cup of coffee of the day, and I had not even had breakfast.

So I am now having my breakfast at nine in the morning which for a work day is late, in fact I think my whole schedule is upside down I don’t know if I am coming or going.

Been Away

 So I have been away in Middle Devon where there is very little internet, so expect some late blogs.

 So a note tome it’s just raining I don’t like the idea that I may have o run in the rain tonight but I will run what ever the weather does.

 So as yesterday was a success in that I did a run and that it was okay, it means that I can go for a run with the group. Well hopefully as last week for one reason or another none of them could make the Thursday run, hopefully tonight we get a few running.

 So I ran tonight to see if the legs were okay  the answer is yes they are okay, but I decided that it was not wise to push them so I just did a steady or easy run.

Out Running Again 

So it’s been a little while since I did a full on non stop run. The plan is to do a 5K run tonight non stop and see how the legs feel while doing the run and also how they feel afterwards.

Thinking back to last Saturday I think it should all be okay, one thing that has changed is that I have been stuck in the office all day and so have not been able to go out on site and walk around bit, which normally stretch’s the legs so maybe that’s one of the reasons that the legs are feeling a bit tight.

So a run tonight it is.

More Music Released

 So you should be able to see on this website that I have just released another 3 music track, each of which is in a different style.

So each track is different and in fact when I look back on the composing dates there is over a year or so between the tracks.

All the tracks use different samples and are in different keys and tempo’s I had fun making these tracks and I hope you can find the time to have a listen.

Rushmoor Parkrun 15/10/2022 Rushmoor Parkrun 15/10/2022 This is only 1 of the 2 laps that make up this Parkrun I was supposed to be taking it easy by walking around the course, but I tried a little jog here and there, and it was okay. Run or Not?

 So yesterday I did a run walk 5K and my legs felt okay, do I rest them some more or do I try going for a run?

These are difficult questions to answer.

I think I shall just have a few rest days so that whatever I did to my leg muscles has a chance to heal.

As someone told me there is always another day to run.

Real Ale Part 2

 So would you believe it I had the chance to try two more real ales, I know how lucky am I

The first real ale that I got to try is called Telemark Rev 5.0% which is a real ale from Norway!

This is a red session ale and I found it easy to drink, the sad thing is that this probability the only time in my life that I will get to drink this ale, as I am not likely to ever get to Norway to try this ale in its home land.

The second ale that I tried in this session was called Titanic Slipway IPA 5.5% so this was the strongest ale I tried today but the funny thing was that it did not taste that strong.

This was an Amber coloured ale and I found that it was easy to drink.

I must have liked it as I wanted to know what hopes were used in its brewing!

It turns out that it used the following hops Halequin jester and finally northdown

This was a very easy ale to drink and as u said above its very sad but this will be the only time in my life that I get the chance to enjoy and drink this ale.

Real Ales

 So got the chance today to try some real ales, this is a rare event and is one that if given the opportunity I do not turn down.

So the two real ales that I have tried today are

Maxim Olicana 4.6% blond beer, I rather liked this and its sad to say that it did not last very long it was very easy to drink.

The second beer I tried was called Black Sheep Astronomer 4.2% and was a black porter this was nice to try but for me the previous drink tasted better.

New Music

 So it's time to unleash on the unsuspecting world some new music.

I think it could be as many as four tracks this time, is the world ready for this....

5K Walk Run

 As some of my muscles still hurt from the hill running that I did on Thursday I today decided that I would walk the parkrun.

Things did not end up staying like that as during walking I decided to see how the legs were, the answer is that they were okay so I did the rest of the parkrun in a run walk.

This was not ideal as I had drefor a walk and not a run.

Any way I had fun and completed the parkrun in some 34 odd minutes which us not bad as I walked more than I ran.

 How big is blogger ?

Just an lazy thought just how many active blog sites are there on blogger?

I think it's amazing that Google haven't shut it down as they seem to shut stuff after a few year on average.

Post 10K Run Part 2

 So last night I did my second post 10K run and it was really quite a hard run to do, the legs really were not up for the run so I did not do any of the planning speed work and just ran a steady pace.

I have a rest day today from running.

Park run on Saturday may end up being a park walk, and why not?

Opps missed a posting

 So missed doing a post yesterday due to the fact I was very busy and then just to tiered and also I had nothing I really wanted to say.

So note to me only post when you have got something you want to talk about, don’t do a post just because you feel you have to.

6K Run

 So my first run after the 10K at the weekend and it should be no surprise that it was a slow run, it does not to me matter how long it took but the main thing was to finish and that’s just what I did.

Quiz night

 So got invited last night to a quiz night at a local pub, due to work and other comments we also ended up having food with soft drinks, as we don’t drink alcohol during the week.

Lithe food was a reasonable price and the servings large such that I could not eat everything on the plate in front of me.

The quiz was with 25 others teams with between 2 and 8 people, I will say here some of the questions are hard. We did not finish in last place I think we where in the top ten with half and one points separating the different teams.

Anyway one of the questions that was asked was the following

1768, 1864, 1896?

It’s a hard question you either know the answer or you don’t

We did not know so we guessed 

We got it wrong

It turns out that cupcakes first appeared in 1768

10K Run

 So just a note to me here that I did the 10K run and I finish 181st out of a field of 596 with a time of 54, which is my third fastest time, which I happen to think was a good effort as I had just had the covid jab, given blood and gust a cold from the wife.

As someone said before there is always another run.

 So as soon as you miss a post or two know one wants to look at the website, I suppose that’s what I should have expected.

This site has over 2000 entries so you think that some one one stubble on one of the earlier entries on here, but looking at the stats it does not look like that happens, oh well.

Slow Parkrun

 So Today  I did a slow parkrun as tomorrow I am running 10k race, unfortunately I am not feeling that great at this time as you will know if you have been following  this website I gave my 148 donation of  blood, this Thursday I also a coved jab, then to top it all off I caught the wives cold or whatever it is that she caught, it’s a bit suspicious as when she got her covid jab she was also given the flue jab as well.

Given how I am feeling I am just going to run at a pace that feels good for me so it will not be PB time this time, which is sad.

I plan to run the 2nd K if I faster than the first and as long as I am under the hour I will be happy.

Race Number part 2

 So I have collected my race number last night and the place I went to collect it was very busy.

I have race number 599 so gutted that it was not 600 that race has a limited number of places 700 and as my surname is towards the back of the alphabet I would expect to end up with a high number.

So all I have to do on Sunday is finish, it looks like I said before the ground is is going to be wet, the good news is that it is not going to be too wet, so that’s good.

I am wondering if having the Covid jab today will have any effect on me on Sunday, this is something that I will only find out on the day, hopefully it does not as I was hoping to try to better my time in this race but it doesn’t matter if I don’t get a PB just so long as I complete the race.

Hong Kong

 So just a quick note to me that some how or other this site has had some visitors from Kong Kong of all places, I would love to know just what search term they used that caused them to end up on my site of all the millions of websites on the internet.

Bet they bid not stay that long as most of the posts on this site are of no real substance and are not in any way going to change the world or some persons life. Add to that that I am in the U.K. so what I have to say can’t really be that relevant to someone on the other side of the planet.

Covid Jab

 So today I get my 3rd Covid jab, for which I am very happy to be getting as I did earlier this year catch Covid and it was not a very nice experience and one that I really don’t want to repeat. I believe the my symptoms would have been far more interesting than what I actually went through, I can’t imagine what it would have been like if I had not had the earlier jabs.

I the hear in the news that Covid is again on the increase so it makes sense to take whatever measures to try and stop or at least reduce the risk of catching it again, I know having the jab will not stop me catching it but hopefully it will help reduce the effects of it.

Wet Run?

 So beginning to worry that the 10k run on Sunday could be a wet one this is something that has happened before, it’s not present but if I have to run in the rain then that’s what I will have to do.

Race Number

 So tonight I shall go and collect my race number for the 20k race on Sunday. I am going to be running a 10K that is a mixture of trail and paths,  it looks like it will me wet underfoot so I have decided to run it in trail shoes just in case.

I wonder what number I will end up with?

The field is limited to 700 so it will be interesting to see what I get.

Blood Donation Time

 So its Blood donation time for only the second time this year, this first donation was in January this year I then missed a donation as I had caught coved which was not very nice.

So I am glad that tori was able to give, this being my last donation of this year.

 So today is the London marathon so I am going to watch the elite races, I hope one day to run a marathon I already have run half marathons, and I am down to do one in Jan 2023.

Amazon Music

 Why does amazon music always crash on my iPad when after start up the amazon music app then go and start the kindle app, the music app crashes 

I would like to say that it’s very annoying.

Maybe one day it will get fixed, sadly I am using the apps on an older iPad, that is full updated and the same with both apps I have installed all the updates that have been released but still they crash.

 So it's Friday again and I am pleased that I have made it to the end of the week. Mainly because I have lots on this weekend which is nice, and it makes a bit of a change.

So Saturday I have the parkrun which is always a challenge.  The I  the evening doing something that I have not done for a long time and that is to go to a live show so that should be fun. I think we are going for a meal beforehand which is an even more rare event

Late Post

 So this is a late post , I am writing this at 10pm when I normally do them much earlier in the day, but today we have suffered from the Internet being down in the house, it’s been reported to the cable company and they reckon that they are working on the fault which is external to the house, the many problem is that we loose the internet at random times for random amount of time, and it’s alway when you want to do something on the internet.

It will be interesting to see if they fix whatever the problem is.

Quiz

 So we went to a local pub quiz last night which was fun, and it was surprisingly very busy with 25 different teams play, it cost each member of the team 2 U.K. pounds.

The thing is that some of the questions where hard and example is what sped did usain Bolt run at?

Was it 27, 29 or 31mph?

Like I know it’s a hard stupid question you either know it or you don’t or like us you guess it, in this part of the quiz you have to answer the questions if you get it right you score 2 points but if you get it wrong you loose 2 points so it’s easy to loose lots of hard earned points right?

So we guessed 29  mph 

The answer turns out to be 27 mph

Benin Part 2

 So after the last post earlier today I did fire up Google and look up where Benin is and it was a real surprise to me where it is in the world, I would never have guessed where it was, I can also safely say that until today I have never heard of it before, all the shows is just how bad my education is.

So where is it?

It turns out that it is in Africa near to Nigeria, and was a former French colony.

So that two things so far that this blog has in common with France.

They are still the third highest viewers of this blog site!

I know how come?

I don’t know the answer to that question, may be it’s just a flash in the pan, and next month I will have no viewers from France, so next month will be interesting to see what happens.

Sweet Chestnut Tree

 So I was out and about yesterday in local countryside when I came across something that I have never seen before and that is a sweet chestnut tree that had both the chestnuts on the branches and flowers at the same time  it was as if the tree thinks its autumn and spring at the same time  truly very bizarre.

 I just looked at this website stats and it appears that I have some one visit from Benin, I just don’t know where that is, but the first question that came to my mind was do they speak English there?

Strange what goes through you mind, nothing about what di they look at on the site oh know do they speak English is the very first thought, strange indeed.

Dart Mission

 So the Dart Mission to hit an asteroid is a success, this is truly amazing the programming and planning that they must have had to do is probably something that may not have been possible years ago.

I can’t wait to see if the impact will make a measurable change in the asteroids orbit, and that fact that we will be able to see these changes is amazing. 

Farnborough Half Marathon

so its that time of year again when I have to decide if I want to run the Farnborough half marathon in the January, well this year the decision was taken out of my hangs as the wife decided for me and the first thing that I know about it was when I get an email confirming my place!

Apparently there are as I write this only 17 weeks to the event!

My New Tracks

 So I upload my new tracks onto YouTube the other day and as is normal the response has been zero interest which is what I tend to expect these days, as I don’t actively promote my YouTube channel, the reason being I don’t know how to do have the stuff and I don’t think I am really that interested in having a popular YouTube channel.

I did look up what you need to do to make money on your channel and I can say with absolutely no worries that I will never make it to make any money from the channel.

One interesting thing I also noticed was that there is a lot of copyright fraud out there as several of my track use copyright free samples but there are companies out there try to claim copyright on them!

As my most popular track is 5 years old on YouTube it’s funny how it suddenly has a copyright claim on it even though it only had 300 odd plays. So someone somewhere has got a bot running such that when a channel gets an item that has been watched so many times they try the fraud trick, the joke is on them as they will not make any money of of me...

I do have the means to prove that the samples that I have used are copyright free but unless the track saddle gets 1000s of plays why bother?

Biscuits

 Just want to record down on this blog that for the first time in years I had some chocolate malted milk biscuits, I had forgotten what they tasted like, I am almost sure that the last time that I had them they did not come with chocolate on them, I must say that adding the chocolate does make them very nice to eat, the chocolate probably makes they even more calorie reach but as you don’t eat biscuits every day a treat now and then can’t be a bad thing can it?

Parkrun

 So just for the record I do parkruns each week normally near to where I live.

So going to a different parkrun is always special, today I ran at a new to me parkrun it was great and because it was my first time there I got a PB!

New Music Tracks

 So as I said in an earlyier blog post on this website, I have managed to upload 3 brand new tracks on YouTube which you will find as blog posts before this one.

All three tracks that have been uploaded are a different musical style, which is normal for me as I don’t tend to stick to the same music style I just create music that matches what I am feeling at the time.

So it’s not unusual for one  track to be say drum and base and the next track a film score with the last track being trance.

I tend to go through periods were I don’t write any music to periods were I will write a lot of music and the sessions tend to last for days, the result is that I have a lot of music that I have written but have yet to release.

I just paused writing this blog entry to go and check just how many tracks I have yet to release, and at a very quick count it is around 100 tracks.

The unpublished tracks very in length from 2 minutes to over 20 minutes, these are not mixes just very long tracks all different musical styles, but I tend to produce trans, house and film sound tracks the most.

So it goes without saying that I shall be publishing more tracks to YouTube soon.

 Just checked the stats for today 22/09/2022 in the afternoon and this site has had more hits from the great folks in France than in the U.K., yes a shock but I am based in the south of the U.K. not far from a city called London, you may even have heard of it I dare say. Anyway getting back to the point and the reason for this blog post is that I appear to be more popular in a country that does not have English as its first language yet it is looking at this site.

How does that happen?

I don’t care just as they may have got something from this website, what they got from it I suspect I will never know.

Anyway I shall keep a look out to see if today was just a flash in the pan and that all the hits from France were just a mistake.

Bots Everywhere

 I am beginning to think that there maybe more bots than real life people on this blog site, is that possible?

What do these bots do and who are they doing the scanning of websites for?

Do the owners of the bots make money by scanning my blog site?

I don’t see how they can make much money form my blogs as the content is on the whole nothing that is out of the ordinary, in fact it’s safe to say that it’s eve day stuff, so what if any value in what I say can there possibly be?

The post I did before this has in 6 hours had two hits, both of which I think are bots and not human beings.

Content

 As this is my blog website I can post about anything I like as long as it’s not sexual or cringe.

One of the problems I have is what do I want to talk about.

Content is the problem and I suspect that a lot of creators in whatever media they work in will have the same problem of running out of content.

As this is a notebook of odd things I really shouldn’t run out of things to talk about, but you know what I do run out of stuff.

French Bots

 Are there 8 different French bots scanning this blog or are they real people who some how had the misfortune to end up on this website?

I don’t know the answer to this question, but it’s interesting to see that if I keep posting every day the poor old bots have to keep coming back.

I wonder what happens when I post more than one post a day, do they have to keep visiting or do they just wait 24 hours?

I am going to try an experiment where I do more than one post a day and see what happens 

Bots

 I am beginning to wonder if most of the hits on this blog site are not due to an actual human clicking on the site and more like different bots scanning the site for new content.

I am sure there must be a tool or app that will let me find out if this just a site that is never read by a human.

That being said, I wonder who the lone German and Danish visitors are.

New Music

 I shall be posting some new music to YouTube in the next few days.

It looks like there will be 3 new tracks.
